Airlie Bach

Jea. I'm still alive again. Not that easy to walk after the long bus ride along the Australian highways (by the way: a highway in Australia is very bumpy an not more then a two line "Bauernstrassl" back at home).
After a coffee break I met Satu again an we hanged out a bit.
By now I booked my flight to Sydney and managed a day trip to the Whitsunday Islands. I hope there will be enough time left to rent a bike on monday - I've seen a few nice tracks on the map.

Sea Kajak

Fraser Update

I got some more pictures of the Fraser trip from my team mates...
At the evening we just hanged out at the bus station next to our hostel. We had to drink out our spare wine.
Just an other pic of our group on the dunes around wabby lake.

Today I got my first coffee after three days.
It was a lot of fun on the island and we had plenty of luck to get no fee from the rangers...

I"ve done Fraser

The last three days I made an awesome trip on Fraser Island. It was a kind of a group travel were you get jointed togehter with ten other travellers from all over the world. Our team was mixed pretty international and we get along soon.

After we had packed all the stuff on our jeep we set over with the ferry.

It didn't take long to loose the frist items on the bumpy road... As you can see, the brasilian guy on top was still awake. The first stop was at lake Mc Kansy - really amazing. I've never seen such a blue fresh water.

On the way back...
Sunset at our camping ground and after that: full moon.
Steaks made by the best austrian cook on Fraser.
Party was going on but we went to bed early - the whole day was too hard.
Next day - driving a jeep on sand is a lot of fun, a bit diffrent compared to snow. Have a look at the famous ship wrack...

On the last day we walked through the desert to lake wabby. An other fresh water lake.

Impressing desert.

Rainbow Beach

This day started with just another hitback. The kajak tour didn't take place, because of the high tide around full moon days. So I tried to look for a bike to make something sporty today - as you can guess - it didn't worked too. In this town they only rent 4-wheel-drives.
After a refreshing coffee break I went to the beach.

It was really nice to walk there and took me around four hours. I met a girl from Finland and we spent a great afternoon on the beach. Really funny, because she has the same reason to go to Australia then I... her Sister works also around Brisbane.

By the way I made a quick shot of a surfing training lesson.

Sunshine again

(100% Organic)

Doch 40 km vorm Ziel - Flooding...
Also gemütliche 200km Umfahrungsstrecke durch purste Australische Landschaft.

Heute am Programm: Sea kajaking, of course depending on the weather.
